During the afternoon session of the high-level forum of the China Electric Vehicle Hundred People Forum (2025) on March 29, Wan Gang, chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology, emphasized the need to continuously advance the development of intelligent and connected systems that seamlessly integrate vehicles, roads, and cloud computing. He proposed incorporating the construction of intelligent and connected infrastructure into urban renewal plans, ensuring efficient coordination with the deployment of digital infrastructure, including 5G communications, roadside sensors, and high-precision maps. Additionally, Wan Gang highlighted the importance of exploring sustainable operational models for new infrastructure, striking a balance between development and safety. To achieve these goals, he stressed the necessity of establishing and refining access testing standards for high-level autonomous intelligent and connected vehicles, revising relevant traffic safety laws and regulations, and expediting the widespread deployment of L3 autonomous vehicles on public roads.
