At the China EV100 Forum (2025) held on March 29th, Vice Minister Xin Guobin of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology emphasized that despite the intricate challenges faced by the automotive industry over the past year, which included heightened external pressures and internal difficulties, the sector united to achieve significant milestones in advancing industrial growth. Nonetheless, he acknowledged that there are still areas for improvement in industrial development. Xin Guobin proposed that industry enterprises prioritize the following four transformations:

Firstly, enterprises should redirect their emphasis from mere scale expansion to a dual focus on both scaling up and enhancing efficiency. This involves shifting the competitive landscape away from price wars and towards improving product quality and optimizing services, thereby fostering sustainable development. Secondly, technological innovation must delve deeper, moving beyond the application level to core technologies. This requires strengthening industry-university-research collaboration, accelerating breakthroughs in pivotal technologies like electrochemical operating systems, and striving for more original and groundbreaking achievements.

Thirdly, the automotive industry should pursue multi-industry integration, fostering deep collaborations with sectors such as energy, transportation, information, and communications to achieve synchronized development. Lastly, enterprises must evolve from being product-centric to enhancing full-life cycle service capabilities. This includes extending the value chain, elevating the level of international operations, and ensuring that the benefits of scientific and technological innovation are accessible globally.
