On March 21, technology media outlet The Verge reported that the US 'Defeat Tesla' movement intends to stage a wave of 500 demonstrations across 277 Tesla showrooms and Supercharger stations nationwide on March 29. This initiative, spearheaded by prominent organizers, filmmakers, and members of Congress, seeks to highlight concerns over Elon Musk's burgeoning political influence, his close ties with President Trump, and the operations of his Government Efficiency Department. Given that a significant portion of Musk's net worth is tied to Tesla stock, the electric car company has emerged as the primary target of these protests. However, the demonstrations have since escalated, with incidents of Tesla stores being shot at, vehicles being set ablaze, and even Supercharger stations and personal vehicles of Tesla owners being targeted. In response to the deteriorating situation, President Trump has labeled such actions as domestic terrorism, while Attorney General Pam Bondi has vowed to severely punish arsonists and vandals.
