Campbell Wilson, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Indian Airlines, cautioned on Tuesday that the global aviation sector is grappling with a severe aircraft shortage crisis. This shortage is anticipated to endure for a period of four to five years, primarily due to the constrained production capacities of Boeing and Airbus, the two leading manufacturers in the industry. Wilson highlighted that the supply chain bottlenecks are predominantly centered on narrow-body aircraft engines, premium seating, and certain fuselage components. He conceded that the entire industry finds itself ensnared in a structural quandary, with all facets of the supply chain intricately linked, akin to a domino effect.
