Mazda, the Japanese automaker, announced on Tuesday that amidst the potential surge in investment costs driven by inflation, the company will rigorously manage the extent of its investment in the transition to electrification by deepening partnerships and maximizing the capabilities of its existing factories. The venerable automaker, with over a century of history, stated that through a suite of cost-saving initiatives, it aims to uphold an overall investment level of approximately 1.5 trillion yen (roughly $10.02 billion) by 2030, in line with the investment plan disclosed in November of last year. Without these cost control measures, the total investment could have escalated by one-third, reaching approximately 2 trillion yen, due to inflationary pressures.
