On the evening of March 17, NIO and CATL sealed a strategic partnership agreement in Ningde, Fujian Province. The collaboration aims to establish a comprehensive battery swapping network for passenger vehicles, standardize industry technical protocols, and enhance capital and business synergies. As part of this agreement, CATL will inject up to RMB 2.5 billion into NIO Power to bolster the expansion of NIO's battery swapping infrastructure. The duo will adopt a "dual-network parallel" strategy to accelerate the adoption and enhancement of battery swapping services. Additionally, they will collaborate on setting national standards for battery swapping technology and create a closed-loop system for the entire lifecycle of batteries, thereby fostering the high-quality growth of the new energy automotive sector.
