On March 14, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) officially issued a notice initiating the application process for the 2025 Recommended List of New Energy Vehicle Rural Promotion Models. With respect to the application criteria, eligible new energy passenger vehicles must either have achieved cumulative production and sales exceeding 10,000 units between January 1, 2024, and February 28, 2025, or be newly launched after January 1, 2025, with a monthly sales volume surpassing 1,000 units. Each enterprise is permitted to submit applications for no more than six models, with each model priced at no more than 350,000 yuan. Notably, different powertrain models from the same brand, such as Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs), are considered as a single model for application purposes. The deadline for submissions is 17:00 on March 21, 2025.
