At the economic-focused press conference of the Third Session of the 14th National People's Congress, Wang Wentao, the Minister of Commerce, disclosed that as of March 5, 2025, over 700,000 applications for car replacement subsidies and more than 300,000 applications for car scrapping subsidies had been received, amounting to a collective total of over 1 million applications.
