In reaction to media reports indicating that the EU is considering extending the China-EU understanding arrangement concerning hybrid vehicle trade to encompass sectors like chemicals, Ministry of Commerce spokesperson Huang Ling, at a routine press conference on the 29th, stated that imposing artificial constraints on normal trade is suspected of contravening World Trade Organization regulations. Such an action will not only fall short of boosting the competitiveness of EU industries but will, on the contrary, impose additional burdens on downstream industries, escalate inflation within the EU, and undermine the security and stability of global industrial and supply chains.
