Gu Jie, Vice President of XPENG Group, announced that the solid-state battery for the XPENG IRON robot has officially commenced small-batch mass production and has begun rolling off the assembly line. The robot is currently in its pre-SOP (Start of Production) phase. During XPENG’s 2025 Tech Day event, the company revealed that the IRON humanoid robot will be the first to adopt all-solid-state batteries, with a strategic goal to achieve large-scale mass production of advanced humanoid robots by the end of 2026. Beginning in 2027, these robots will be deployed across XPENG’s global retail stores and commercial venues, offering services such as shopping guidance and product explanations.
