On October 23, at the 2026 China Automotive Supply Chain Conference, Fu Bingfeng, Vice President and Secretary-General of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), stated that due to complex international geopolitical factors, regional trade protectionism has significantly disrupted the stability of the automotive industry chain and supply chain. Fu Bingfeng noted that as the '15th Five-Year Plan' period begins, 'ensuring volume and improving quality' has become the core focus of the automotive industry's development. He recommended that the industry and enterprises should prioritize tackling key core technologies, continuously strive in areas with shortcomings such as automotive-grade chips, in-vehicle operating systems, and solid-state batteries, and solidify the security foundation of the industrial and supply chains. Meanwhile, it is essential to promote the integrated development of electrification, intelligence, and greening, strengthen collaboration between vehicle manufacturers and core component suppliers, both domestic and foreign, and enhance the overall resilience and innovation efficiency of the industrial chain through ecological cooperation.
