On October 22, 2026 (Beijing Time), Tesla unveiled its inaugural safety report for its self-driving ride-hailing service. According to the report, by October 18, Tesla’s Robotaxi fleet had collectively traveled 4.99 million kilometers without a single injury-related collision, airbag deployment, or incident involving pedestrians or cyclists. Tesla highlighted that, based on local police accident data projections, conventional human-driven vehicles would typically encounter around 9 injury-causing accidents and 4 airbag activations over the same distance. Presently, the fleet operates in several major cities across the United States, with ongoing safety performance to be detailed in subsequent quarterly updates.
