At the 2026 World Intelligent Connected Vehicles Conference, Li Keqiang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the Chief Scientist at the National Intelligent Connected Vehicles Innovation Center, disclosed that the number of Chinese and foreign companies collaborating on the “vehicle-road-cloud integration” for intelligent connected vehicles has risen from 15 to 22. A total of 21 vehicle models are now engaged in the mass production development and testing of vehicle-road-cloud integration. Regarding the incorporation of mass production functions into vehicles, it is anticipated that within this year, these functions will be integrated into vehicles through various channels, such as OEM in-vehicle APP/API, the “official APP store/shelf,” and in-vehicle driving interaction interfaces. Moreover, the integration of in-vehicle systems with intelligent driving systems is slated for completion by 2027. Li Keqiang also emphasized that the vehicle-road-cloud integration industry chain has started to take shape, with commercial contracts being gradually signed between upstream and downstream companies. Presently, 14 partnerships have been forged, involving 26 upstream and downstream companies, 8 urban vehicle-network firms, and 7 suppliers of new types of connected vehicle components.
