On October 19, Japanese automaker Subaru announced its plan to launch software-defined vehicles (SDVs) in the latter half of this decade and reduce vehicle development cycles by approximately 40% to accelerate model launches. During a strategic briefing, Subaru revealed that it would gradually deploy newly developed integrated electronic control units (ECUs) across its entire vehicle lineup. The company plans to utilize digital simulation for prototype design, advancing design, testing, and production preparation simultaneously to shorten development cycles.
