On October 18, AMG, a renowned brand under the Mercedes-Benz Group, introduced its first independently-developed all-electric SUV, with the ambition to secure a competitive advantage in the luxury vehicle market through its exceptional performance. The entry-level AMG GT SUV is priced at €113,050 (roughly equivalent to $127,060) and is set to hit the market next Tuesday. Additionally, two more premium variants are slated for release next spring. This model poses a direct challenge to Porsche's all-electric Cayenne, which made its debut in November of the previous year, and surpasses it in terms of power.

The AMG GT SUV is outfitted with three axial-flux motors and an 800-volt battery system, enabling it to produce a maximum output of 1,169 horsepower. The base model offers a maximum driving range of up to 668 kilometers, while the top-tier version can travel up to 700 kilometers on a single charge. The highest-specification variant accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 2.5 seconds. This vehicle is primarily aimed at consumers who prioritize driving performance and will also go head-to-head with Jaguar Land Rover's forthcoming first all-electric Range Rover and Bentley's newly launched all-electric SUV.
