On October 10th, four key departments, including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, jointly released the Notice on Further Enhancing the Management of Innovative Design, R&D Testing, and Verification in the Automotive Industry (Draft for Public Comment). This notice is designed to standardize marketing and promotional practices within the automotive sector. It mandates that automobile manufacturers must conduct their marketing and promotional activities with honesty and objectivity, clearly and accurately outlining the usage scope, constraints, and the conditions under which product innovative designs have been tested and verified during R&D. Manufacturers are strictly prohibited from engaging in promotions that are false, exaggerated, or misleading. Furthermore, they must refrain from showcasing scenarios that breach traffic regulations to highlight product features, nor should they influence drivers to overlook their responsibilities for safe driving. This ensures that consumers have a correct and comprehensive understanding of the relevant functions and can use them appropriately.
