The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, along with three other governmental departments, has collectively released the 'Notice on Further Enhancing the Management of Innovative Design, R&D, Testing, and Verification for Automotive Products (Draft for Public Comment)'. The draft specifies that automotive products incorporating virtual controls (such as touch-sensitive buttons and pressure-sensitive buttons) as substitutes for traditional physical buttons must adhere not only to standards like the 'Technical Conditions for the Safe Operation of Motor Vehicles' (GB 7258) and 'Symbols for Controls, Indicators, and Tell-tales for Motor Vehicles' (GB 4094) but also undergo comprehensive evaluation and verification regarding touch reliability, resistance to misoperation, and clarity of feedback. For functions critical to driving safety (including lighting, wipers, defrosting, and defogging), if virtual controls are employed, their ease of use, reliability, and safety across diverse driving conditions must be thoroughly assessed, and physical controls must also be available as a backup. Furthermore, emergency control devices pertinent to safety, such as automotive emergency escape mechanisms, emergency braking systems, and drive system power cutoff switches, must feature physical controls and be clearly marked to facilitate easy emergency operation.
