On October 10, recent reports confirmed that XPENG Group has been appointed as the Secretary-General of the newly established ‘Working Group on Information Exchange Related to Autonomous Driving Scenarios’ (TF-ESRI). This working group falls under the Working Party on Automated/Autonomous and Connected Vehicles (GRVA) within the vehicle regulations coordination framework of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). In this capacity, XPENG Group will oversee the coordination and management of the working group’s activities, fostering collaboration and the sharing of insights and experiences regarding real-world autonomous driving scenarios among international regulatory agencies, certification bodies, technical experts, and industry stakeholders. This appointment marks a significant milestone, as it is the first instance of a Chinese company taking on such a leadership role within the core structure of UN autonomous driving regulations.
