Data sourced from the General Administration of Customs and compiled by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) reveals that in August, the combined import and export value of automotive products reached US$30.60 billion. This figure reflects a 5.3% decrease compared to the previous month but marks a significant 18.6% increase year-on-year. Breaking it down, the import value stood at US$2.77 billion, experiencing a 22.4% drop from July and a 33.5% decline year-on-year. Conversely, the export value reached US$27.83 billion, showing a slight 3.2% decrease month-on-month but a robust 28.6% surge year-on-year. From January to August of this year, the cumulative import and export volume of automotive products across the nation has amounted to US$227.65 billion, representing a 25.1% increase compared to the same period last year. Within this total, the import value was US$25.59 billion, down by 16.1% year-on-year, while the export value soared to US$202.06 billion, up by 33.4% year-on-year.
