On September 29th, news emerged that LG Electronics is currently in the process of developing a next-generation in-vehicle central information display (CID) specifically tailored for Porsche. In this endeavor, LG Display will be responsible for supplying the panels, while LG Electronics will take charge of the integration and system development aspects. This particular project forms part of a broader assignment entrusted by South Korea's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. The research and development phase for this project is set to span from July 2024 all the way to December 2028. The innovative CID solution being developed will incorporate both OLED and LCD technologies, aiming to fulfill Porsche's stringent requirement for a 'variable viewing angle.' Looking ahead, if and when OLED technology reaches a sufficient level of maturity, the solution will transition to utilizing OLED technology exclusively.
