The National Energy Administration has unveiled data concerning the national electric vehicle charging infrastructure for August 2026. According to the figures, as of the end of August 2026, the cumulative number of electric vehicle charging infrastructure units (guns) across China had soared to 24.223 million, marking a significant year-on-year surge of 39.6%. Breaking it down, there were 5.16 million public charging units (guns), reflecting a 19.5% year-on-year growth, with a combined rated power of 262 million kilowatts and an average power output of roughly 50.69 kilowatts per gun. Simultaneously, the number of private charging units (guns) stood at 19.063 million, experiencing a robust 46.3% year-on-year increase, with the installed electrical capacity of private charging facilities reported at 163 million kilovolt-amperes.
