On September 18, reports revealed that China’s domestically developed large aircraft, the C919, has now safely accumulated over 150,000 flight hours. Since its entry into service, the C919 has transported more than 8 million passengers across 26 cities. At the 4th China Air Transport Association Aviation Conference, models of two new C919 variants were prominently displayed: a shortened version tailored to meet the unique demands of civil aviation transport in plateau regions, and a stretched version offering nearly 80 additional seats compared to the currently delivered models. Meanwhile, the development of the C929 is progressing steadily through its design phase.
