BYD has recently placed an order for 10 LNG-fueled car carrier ships, each boasting a capacity of 9,200 Car Equivalent Units (CEUs). Should this order be finalized, BYD's proprietary fleet will expand to encompass 18 vessels, boasting an annual transportation capacity surpassing 130,000 vehicles. This strategic maneuver is designed to bolster logistical support in pivotal markets, including Europe and North America, in harmony with global trends towards emission reduction, while simultaneously elevating transportation efficiency. This strategic deployment underscores the burgeoning growth of China's new energy vehicle exports, empowering automakers to diminish their reliance on third-party logistics, attain comprehensive control over the entire supply chain, and potentially spearhead an energy transition within the global car carrier ship industry.
