On September 10, Thailand's National Electric Vehicle Policy Committee agreed in principle to introduce a three-tier consumption tax rate structure: the lowest tax rate would be levied on electric vehicles manufactured locally in Thailand, the highest tax rate on fully imported models, and an intermediate tax rate on vehicles partially using imported components.
