On September 7, a representative from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) responded to inquiries from reporters about the "Notice on Encouraging Automobile Enterprises to Standardize Supplier Payments and Optimize Payment Term Management." The MIIT has launched an "Online Platform for Key Automobile Enterprises to Address Payment Term Commitments and Feedback" and is collaborating with media watchdogs to oversee payment practices within the automotive sector. This initiative aims to tackle challenges and gather feedback concerning the enforcement, research, and assessment of payment terms.

Specifically, the ministry will carry out joint interviews, in coordination with relevant government bodies, targeting automobile companies that have significant outstanding payables, intentionally prolong payment periods, or have accumulated a substantial number of complaints. These firms will be pressed to implement corrective actions promptly. Through these efforts, the MIIT aspires to galvanize the enthusiasm of all stakeholders, bolster the robustness and security of industrial and supply chains, and cultivate an equitable, trustworthy, and mutually beneficial industrial environment.
