As a leading force in the global power battery sector, China has been harnessing its extensive industrial expertise to drive the development of international standards. This is particularly evident in critical areas such as the thermal management of power batteries and the recycling of retired batteries, through prominent frameworks like the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). Notably, China has taken the initiative to spearhead the creation of two international standards under ISO, specifically focused on thermal management. These standards are designed to establish globally recognized and unified performance evaluation methods for power battery thermal management systems. Simultaneously, Chinese experts are deeply engaged in the process of formulating international standards for battery performance evaluation, as well as general guidelines for the recycling of retired batteries. Furthermore, the IEC international standard proposal titled "Guidelines for Discharge during the Recycling of Retired Batteries," which is being led by Chinese experts, has also been successfully launched.
