On the morning of September 4th, Beijing time (which was September 3rd locally in the United States), Tesla made a groundbreaking announcement in Austin, Texas, by officially launching its highly anticipated, in-house-developed self-driving taxi, the Cybercab. This innovative vehicle breaks away from traditional automotive design by omitting the steering wheel, pedals, and rearview mirrors, entrusting all decision-making processes to Tesla's advanced Full Self-Driving (FSD) system. The Cybercab is designed with a two-seat configuration and boasts gull-wing doors, adding a touch of futuristic elegance. It offers an impressive range of approximately 673 kilometers on a single charge and is targeted to retail for under $30,000. Notably, the initial batch of 45 Cybercabs has already been rolled out for commercial operations, and Tesla has ambitious plans to scale up production to 2 million units per year in the long run.
