The FREELANDER 8, the inaugural model under the FREELANDER brand—a collaborative venture between Chery and Jaguar Land Rover—has officially made its market debut. This new SUV is available in six trims, offering both five-seat and six-seat configurations, with subsidized prices spanning from RMB 289,900 to RMB 379,900. Positioned as a mid-to-large SUV, the FREELANDER 8 exudes a luxurious and intelligent off-road aesthetic. Its exterior design closely mirrors that of the concept car, while still retaining classic design elements. Inside, the vehicle features a wraparound cockpit layout, boasting multiple large screens and an abundance of comfort-enhancing features. The six-seat variant, in particular, offers a comprehensive suite of seat functionalities. In terms of chassis engineering, the FREELANDER 8 employs a double-wishbone plus multi-link suspension setup, complemented by air suspension, rear-wheel steering, and three differential locks, ensuring exceptional off-road performance capabilities. For its intelligent configurations, the FREELANDER 8 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8397 chip, with the advanced driver-assistance system leveraging Huawei's cutting-edge technology. The Qiankun ADS 5 system comes standard across all trims. The powertrain utilizes extended-range hybrid technology, delivering a total system power output of 610kW. It achieves a swift 0-100km/h acceleration in just 4.6 seconds and offers a pure electric driving range of 310km under CLTC conditions.
