At the 2026 World Conference on Power Batteries, Academician Ouyang Minggao of the Chinese Academy of Sciences emphasized that integrating AI capabilities throughout the entire industrial chain represents a significant trend in the power battery sector. He highlighted that the upcoming five-year period will be a crucial juncture for transitioning battery R&D from conventional approaches to AI-powered intelligent R&D. Achieving technological breakthroughs and advancing the industrialization of all-solid-state batteries will heavily rely on the support provided by AI R&D platforms. Concurrently, harnessing large-scale AI models for comprehensive battery lifecycle management—based on supply chain and manufacturing big data—has emerged as an unavoidable trend. Looking ahead, smart batteries equipped with embedded sensors are poised to further propel the development of AI-driven empowerment.
