Wayve and Uber have jointly launched the UK's first attended Robotaxi service in London, marking Wayve's first commercial deployment. The initial fleet of 15 Ford Mustang Mach-E vehicles operates across London (excluding airport areas), featuring in-car screens that support 64 languages and eliminating the need for passengers to tip. The partnership operates on a pay-per-use model, with Uber compensating Wayve for its AI Driver software based on usage. To offer unattended Robotaxi services in London, Wayve must complete a series of licensing procedures. Additionally, Uber has decided to exit the Nigerian and Ugandan markets due to a 10% global workforce reduction.
