Mitsubishi Motors officially launched the fifth-generation Pajero, featuring a ladder-frame body-on-frame chassis, a second-generation Super-Select 4WD full-time four-wheel-drive system, and the S-AWC Super All Wheel Control system, directly competing with the Toyota Prado. Externally, the new model adopts the brand's latest 'Dynamic Shield' design language, while the interior receives modern upgrades and is equipped with a Yamaha sound system. The vehicle measures 4920*1925*1910mm with a wheelbase of 2870mm, offering a 2+3+2 seven-seat layout. In terms of off-road capability, the new Pajero excels and comes with factory-prepped mounting points for a snorkel. The chassis is based on a modified version of Mitsubishi's Triton pickup truck frame, enhancing torsional rigidity. Powertrain options include a 2.4T diesel engine paired with an 8AT transmission for the initial release, followed by a plug-in hybrid variant. Manufactured in Thailand, the vehicle will debut in Thailand, Japan, and Australia, with plans to expand to nearly 100 markets by FY2027. There are currently no plans for a China launch.
