Hyundai Motor Co., South Korea’s leading automaker, announced on Tuesday that its sales in August experienced a 14% year-on-year decrease, primarily due to the impact of partial strikes and a reduced number of working days. According to a press release from Hyundai Motor, the total vehicle sales for last month amounted to 288,574 units, in contrast to 336,141 units during the same period last year. Specifically, domestic sales within South Korea saw a significant 41% drop, declining from 58,330 units to 34,333 units. Meanwhile, overseas sales also witnessed an 8.5% decrease, falling from 277,811 units to 254,241 units.
