In August 2026, Hongmeng Zhixing introduced an in-cabin laser radar system utilizing a shared optical path. This system incorporates an innovative "one-mirror dual-mode" design, which seamlessly integrates the laser radar and camera into a compact, fully solid-state module measuring just 11×3.8 cm. This integration facilitates synchronous fusion of 3D point clouds and 2D images at the physical level, effectively eliminating time lags and spatial discrepancies, thereby significantly enhancing perception accuracy.
The technology effectively tackles challenges associated with in-cabin deployment, such as space constraints, glass signal attenuation, and NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) issues. Real-world tests demonstrate that the system can detect small targets as tiny as 30 cm from a distance of up to 116 meters, marking a 43% improvement over traditional roof-mounted radar systems. It also excels in recognizing irregular obstacles over long distances, while offering the added benefits of maintenance-free operation throughout its lifespan and reduced wind resistance.
Currently, this cutting-edge technology is featured in models including the AITO M7 pro+, AITO M6 max, and Luxeed RX. It empowers Huawei's Qian Kun (Qiankun) Intelligent Driving ADS Enhanced Edition to provide 24 active safety features, thereby promoting the widespread adoption of advanced assisted driving systems.
