The official website of the State Administration for Market Regulation has released several announcements regarding vehicle recalls. Nine automakers, including Tesla, have submitted recall plans affecting approximately 4.276 million vehicles. The main cause for these recalls stems from problems related to the identification and functionality of emergency mechanical handles within the vehicles. In severe scenarios, these issues could potentially hinder escape and rescue operations. The recall encompasses various new energy vehicle models, with around 2.976 million Tesla vehicles involved. Automakers have proposed diverse rectification strategies, such as adding labels, replacing cover plates, and implementing remote software upgrades. It's important to note that this is not a pervasive issue of mechanical emergency door opening devices being absent. Furthermore, starting from January 1, 2027, the mandatory national standard 'Safety Technical Requirements for Automobile Door Handles' will come into effect. This standard mandates the provision and proper labeling of mechanical release handles on both the interior and exterior of vehicle doors. The implementation of related requirements will occur in stages, with efforts to expedite safety standards for door handles.
