On August 20, Mitsubishi Motors submitted a report to Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism, revealing that a glitch in the navigation system's control software has rendered the in-car display incapable of accurately showing camera feeds, such as those used for reversing maneuvers. Consequently, the automaker has decided to recall 13,226 units of the Outlander PHEV, manufactured from October 2024 through February 2026. According to the Ministry, the affected screens may experience blackouts or freeze-ups, resulting in a failure to display crucial visuals—a situation that could potentially fall short of established safety norms.
