Recently, CATL, a global frontrunner in pioneering battery technologies, inked a memorandum of cooperation with Schaeffler, a technology firm with a specialized focus on drive technologies. The two entities are set to embark on a strategic partnership in domains including Battery Management Systems (BMS) and multi-functional energy cabinets. Their joint endeavor aims to develop localized electric control solutions specifically designed to meet the requirements of European automotive manufacturers and to foster the shift towards new energy sources across Europe. This collaboration will harness Schaeffler's well-established onboard chargers and high/low voltage DC converters, blending them seamlessly with CATL's expertise in cell monitoring and high-voltage power distribution unit technologies. The focus will be on crafting high-safety, high-quality BMS solutions and creating multi-functional energy cabinets that consolidate high-voltage electric control, power distribution, and voltage conversion functions. This approach is anticipated to drive down vehicle costs and boost driving range performance.
