On August 20, during the 2026 Automotive New Quality Productivity Development Forum held on August 19, Wu Yongqiao, President of Bosch Intelligent Driving Control China, highlighted that while China’s domestic passenger vehicle market faced notable challenges from January to July this year, exports demonstrated remarkable resilience, surging by 73% year-on-year. He projected that two Chinese automakers will each exceed 2 million export units this year, marking a historic milestone. Wu Yongqiao further predicted that China’s total OEM auto exports could exceed 10 million vehicles in 2024. However, he warned that global governments may increasingly require Chinese automakers to localize production overseas in the future. According to his estimates, the scale of overseas manufacturing by Chinese brands could surpass 20 million units over time. Currently, Bosch is collaborating closely with leading domestic automakers to facilitate cross-domain integration, ensure compliance with stringent regulatory standards, and support their global expansion efforts.
