Seres has proudly declared that the AITO M6 has surpassed 40,000 cumulative deliveries within a mere 97 days of its market introduction. Insights from a well-informed blogger suggest that an extended-range variant boasting a large-capacity battery and rear-wheel-drive configuration is on the horizon. This new model will feature a robust 53 kWh battery, promising a CLTC pure electric driving range exceeding 400 kilometers. Additionally, it will introduce a fresh exterior hue named 'Ice Crystal Pink' and an interior shade dubbed 'Truffle Brown.' Notably, the AITO M6's sales have experienced a downturn over the past two months, with July's figures plummeting to just 5,428 units. This decline can be attributed to two primary factors: initially, the pricing strategy has been a point of contention, with the extended-range variant's starting price set at 259,800 yuan, yet it only comes equipped with a 37 kWh battery, failing to offer a compelling edge over its rivals; secondly, strategic missteps have played a role, as the initial launch did not include the 81 kWh rear-wheel-drive pure electric variant. Subsequent introductions of this variant had a limited impact, while competitors persistently roll out new models to capture market share. Anticipation surrounds the pricing of the forthcoming model, with speculation suggesting it could align with the current M6 Max+ four-wheel-drive version's price point or potentially drop to 249,800 yuan, with the latter scenario appearing more plausible.
