As reported by TechCrunch, on August 18, Einride, a Swedish freight technology firm, declared its plan to deploy 500 Tesla Semi electric heavy-duty trucks across North America. This move represents the largest publicly known procurement order for Tesla Semi so far. At present, Einride has a fleet of roughly 250 electric trucks. Once all 500 Tesla Semis are up and running, the size of its fleet will surge to approximately 750 vehicles. The initial batch of vehicles is set to be delivered next month, and the rest will be gradually put into service over the following 24 months. The procurement was facilitated through third-party financing. These vehicles will be seamlessly integrated into Einride's Saga AI intelligent dispatch platform, enabling them to offer freight services to clients like Amazon.
