Data released by South Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy on Thursday revealed that the country’s automotive exports climbed 7% year-on-year to reach $6.24 billion in July—a record high for the same month in history. This growth was primarily driven by robust demand for eco-friendly models. Specifically, exports of environmentally conscious vehicles soared by 25.5% year-on-year, totaling $2.59 billion. Regional exports also saw significant gains, with shipments to North America rising 18% to $3.25 billion and those to the European Union jumping 23.5% to $880 million.
