In July 2026, China's new energy vehicle (NEV) sector achieved a remarkable milestone, with the share of monthly new vehicle sales exceeding 60% for the first time. Additionally, the cumulative sales proportion also climbed above the 50% threshold for the initial occasion. Concurrently, monthly exports surpassed the 1 million vehicle mark for two consecutive months, with the export share maintaining a level above 50% for the same duration. Throughout the first seven months of the year, total automobile production and sales figures stood at 17.567 million and 17.602 million vehicles, respectively. Notably, NEV production and sales both surpassed the 9 million vehicle milestone, marking a year-on-year increase of nearly 10%. Specifically, in July, NEV production reached 1.576 million vehicles, while sales hit 1.561 million vehicles, reflecting year-on-year growth of 26.8% and 23.7%, respectively. Moreover, the production and sales of battery electric vehicles both exceeded the 1 million vehicle mark, with both experiencing year-on-year growth rates exceeding 30%.
