On July 30, the Cyberspace Administration of Shanghai Municipal Committee, in collaboration with the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, the Shanghai Administration for Market Regulation, and the Cybersecurity Brigade of the Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau, convened a dedicated meeting. The purpose was to offer compliance guidance to automotive-related self-media platforms, which collectively boast a follower count surpassing 5 million. During the meeting, it was emphasized that self-media platforms must rigorously comply with laws and regulations, notably the Cybersecurity Law, and abstain from disseminating non-compliant information. This includes refraining from making malicious predictions about market downturns and providing distorted interpretations of policies. The self-media platforms in attendance pledged to undertake self-examinations and implement corrective measures to guarantee lawful operations. Moving forward, the relevant departments are committed to continuing their efforts to tackle irregularities within the automotive self-media sphere, with the aim of fostering a cleaner online public opinion environment.
