Reports indicate that Waymo, a subsidiary under Alphabet, is contemplating the termination of its partnership with Uber. The two entities initially joined forces in May 2023 to roll out a driverless taxi service in Phoenix, Arizona, in the United States. Subsequently, they extended their collaborative efforts to Austin and Atlanta. In these areas, passengers can only hail Waymo vehicles via the Uber app, and the fleet is co-managed by Uber and its partner, Avomo. This May, the partnership agreement between the two parties in Phoenix reached its expiration and was, consequently, terminated.
