Volkswagen's Executive Board has outlined a strategy to progressively wind down operations at two of its German factories—located in Zwickau and Emden—over the forthcoming five-year period. Furthermore, the commercial vehicle production site in Hanover is earmarked for closure in 2032, while the Audi plant in Neckarsulm is slated to cease operations in 2034. This strategic shift is anticipated to impact around 40,000 workers employed across these four facilities.
