On July 8, Mercedes-Benz Group unveiled its global sales figures for the second quarter of 2026. The data showed that a total of 511,900 passenger cars and light commercial vehicles were sold, reflecting a 6% decrease compared to the same period last year. Despite the overall downward trend in global sales, pure electric vehicles stood out as a significant growth area. Spurred by the launch of new models, Mercedes-Benz's global sales of pure electric vehicles experienced a remarkable 50% year-on-year surge in the second quarter, totaling 63,000 units. However, impacted by intense market competition, Mercedes-Benz's sales in China witnessed a 30% year-on-year decline, dropping to 98,600 units during the same quarter.
