US autonomous vehicle manufacturer Forterra revealed that over the past nine months, more than 100 of its self-driving all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) have been deployed on the battlefield in Ukraine. This marks the largest-scale combat application of autonomous ground vehicles by a US defense technology company to date. Funded by US defense budgets, the mission of these vehicles has become a crucial part of the US military's efforts to accelerate its own digital and intelligent transformation by supporting Ukraine's resistance against Russian forces.
