On July 3, Envision AESC made an announcement stating that its 46120 large cylindrical battery has officially commenced mass production at its cutting-edge super factories located in Cangzhou and Jiangyin, Wuxi. This innovative battery is set to be integrated into the global rollout of multiple models within BMW Group’s ‘Neue Klasse’ pure electric platform. According to reports, this particular battery stands out as the tallest and boasts the largest single-cell capacity among all 46-series batteries currently in mass production worldwide, with an impressive energy density of 310Wh/kg. The usable single-cell capacity of this battery is almost 30% greater than that of the 4695 battery utilized in the BMW iX3. Moreover, it will make its grand debut in BMW’s brand-new iX5 pure electric model.
