On the evening of June 29, numerous NIO vehicle owners encountered a significant issue: the Apple version of the NIO App was experiencing frequent crashes. This problem hindered them from locking their cars, checking the vehicle status, and caused Bluetooth key synchronization to malfunction. In stark contrast, the Android version of the App operated smoothly without any such issues. Despite attempts by owners to restart their phones and switch networks, the problem persisted. Upon contacting the customer service hotline, they were advised to uninstall and then reinstall the App as a temporary workaround. However, this measure only provided a fleeting solution, as the issue would resurface shortly after. By the morning of June 30, NIO customer service announced that they had pinpointed the root cause of the problem. They were in the process of rolling out a new version of the App in batches, promising that updating to this version would resolve the issue definitively. As of the time of this report, NIO had yet to issue an official statement regarding the matter.
