The automotive division of Dreame has been restructured under the Industrial Research Institute, now focusing solely on technology research and development. This move has cast a shadow of uncertainty over the company's mass production plans. Adding to the turmoil, Chen Longdong, a key executive at Dreame and CEO of Xingchen Future Automotive, has tendered his resignation.

Chen Longdong took the helm as the legal representative and CEO of Xingchen Future (Suzhou) Automotive Technology in June 2025, with the primary responsibility of spearheading the Vehicle project. In August of the same year, Dreame made a bold foray into the automotive manufacturing sector by establishing an independent entity and assembling a dedicated team. The company outlined ambitious plans to launch high-end pure electric vehicle models by 2027, finalize overseas factory locations, and unveil multiple concept cars alongside mass production plans in the first half of 2026.

However, the road to automotive manufacturing has been fraught with challenges. In January of this year, some Dreame employees publicly raised concerns about the company's automotive strategy, criticizing Chen Longdong for his perceived lack of initiative and passive execution of arrangements. In response to these concerns, Dreame announced a strategic overhaul, shifting its focus to four core sectors: smart home, outdoor courtyard, smart mobility, and embodied intelligence. Concurrently, the company is integrating, merging, or transforming other businesses, with departments that have not been practically implemented or adequately staffed facing direct cancellation.
