On June 16, reports surfaced indicating that amid intensifying market competition this year and notable surges in supply chain costs—particularly for memory components—the automotive sector is under urgent pressure to slash supply chain expenses to bolster the competitiveness of its product pricing. Against this challenging backdrop, Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance, which operates within the mid-to-high-end market segment, has embarked on a comprehensive initiative to introduce multiple power battery suppliers.
According to well-informed sources, "With the exception of Zunjie, which is constrained by its short-term production scale, other brands within the alliance are likely to diversify their battery suppliers." Notably, the AITO brand, which has hitherto relied exclusively on CATL for its battery needs, is set to incorporate two second-tier battery suppliers into its fold: CALB and Gotion High-Tech. It has been reported that the AITO M6 model has already confirmed the integration of Gotion High-Tech's 81 kWh battery pack. Furthermore, Gotion High-Tech received a Designated Supplier Letter from Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance last year, solidifying its position within the supply chain. CALB, too, is poised to join AITO's esteemed supply system.
